About Me

Mary Beth Slater is an Omaha based actress, stage manager, and designer. She holds her Bachelors of Arts in Theatre from the University of Nebraska – Omaha.
Acting since 11, I have dedicated most of my life to my passion for theatre. I first caught the bug after seeing “The Wizard of OZ” at the Mills Masquers in Glenwood, Iowa in 1997. I soon auditioned for my first role, participating in over 15 productions before graduating high school. I have been involved both on and off stage around the Omaha Metro. I proudly don many hats from Actor to Stage Manager to Costume Designer to Director, and have accrued over 80 show credits to date. Some of my favorite productions include Catherine in Proof (Mills Masquers), Various Roles in Enron (Omaha Community Playhouse), Joanne in Vanities (Chanticleer Community Theater) as well as stage managing Three to Beam Up (Shelterbelt Theatre) and The Comedy of Errors (Nebraska Shakespeare).
I worked with Apollon Art Space in Omaha, NE from 2014 until their closure in 2022, creating original immersive art experiences. I have been seen in This Bitch is Going Down! (2014 & 2016) as well as Madhouse: Visions of the Unsound Mind (2015), A Very Important Date: The Untold Story of the White Rabbit (2016), and Murder in a Jerkwater Town (2018; actor & costume design). Other Apollon credits include: How the Apollon Showed Seuss (2016; director & creative lead); Holiday at Hogwarts (2018; costume design); Rumors in the Kitchen (2019; producer & creative lead), and
Something Remembered (2019; set and graphic design).
I am an Ex-Officio for the Theatre Arts Guild (TAG) where I served on the board for two years. Also, I served as a member of The Shakespeare Collective assisting with Nebraska Shakespeare for three years from 2016-2019.
